After School Programs

 

Dinosaur Paleontology, Rocks & Minerals: Multiple after school activities with detailed instruction and weekly hands-on, take-home projects.  After school program students will be given the opportunity to work with genuine rock we truck back from Montana, Mexico, and Utah and with the use of real tools, discover genuine Dinosaur Teeth, Dinosaur Bones, and unbelievable fossils like Trilobites.

Students who take our Dinosaur after school program will be working on their own private fossil dig and get to keep for their very own collection some very interesting and fascinating fossils like Dinosaur Bone, Petrified Wood, Crinoid Stems, Fossil Coral, Fossil Clams, Fossil Sea Urchin, Trilobites, and an amazing array of Fossil Shark Teeth including Megalodon Shark Teeth.

Our after school program and after school activities allows students to get an intensive review of various types of Dinosaurs, with Museum-quality pieces as the backdrop and for demonstration. Imagine an up-close and personal view of genuine Dinosaur Egg Nests, Meteorites, Dinosaur Teeth, Dinosaur Claws, Dinosaur Footprints, Amber and many other fossils that range from 2-Million to over 500 Million years old.

We bring many genuine pieces as well as replicas (the same pieces you see at Museums around the world) to all of our after school programs.  Your students will get to interact with the following: Huge 5Ft+ T-Rex Skull, T-Rex Footprints, Ice-Age Mammals, Coelophysis Skeleton, Edmontosaurus Skull, Saber-Tooth Tiger, Wooly Mammoth, Mastodon, Triceratops, Allosaurus, Apatosaurus Femur, and more.

Other take-home projects your students will get as part of our after school program is as follows.  Students participating in after school activities will build and keep some large wooden dinosaurs, learn how replicas are made and make casts of genuine fossils for their own collection.  Each week we review interesting facts like: Deciphering Dinosaur Names, Geologic Time Scale, Continental Drift, Dinosaur Classification, How Fossil are Formed and more.

Weather permitting, students during their after school program will Pan for Gems & Minerals with our rushing water Sluice, to keep for their own collection.  We will even be breaking open some very cool crystal-filled 100-million year old Geodes that your students can add to their own collection.

After school program students will be exposed so some of the finest museum quality minerals (amethyst, pyrite cubes, citrine, fluorescent minerals) and lots more all from our own private collection.

Students in our after school program will learn about "rocks" that they actually eat on a daily basis. Plus, get samples of rocks and minerals we use regularly.  We rarely stop to think about the fact that almost every item in our homes comes from some form of rock or mineral dug up from the earth.

These fascinating topics, coupled with great projects will make for an unforgettable learning experience.
